assessments and consultation

Filmmaker and festival director Briony Kidd is increasingly in demand as a script editor and screenwriting consultant. She works with all genres but especially enjoys working in the more extreme areas of storytelling (eg. horror, thriller, dark fantasy, science fiction, black comedy and melodrama).

Briony’s approach is to help the writer clarify and sharpen their intention, the first step in allowing a concept to reach its full potential. She believes screenplays written for mainstream and genre audiences should be entertaining above all but should have something new or unexpected to say. Drawing on Briony’s experience as a filmmaker and her background as a festival programmer, consideration is also given to the practical realities of production and to the marketability of the project.

The services below are intended to cover most situations but get in touch if you have other requirements or would like to request a more comprehensive package involving revisions and/or multiple services. Consultation on pitch documents and funding applications is also available.
